Repco is the largest reseller and supplier in the automotive parts and accessories aftermarket in Australia and New Zealand with over 400 stores across both countries.
The task :
Since 2010, MCS has worked alongside the marketing teams of both retail and trade, providing Event management and support solutions as well as media and PR programs for key campaigns.
Client Case Study :
MCS worked alongside the Girl Guides of Australia and the team at Repco Australia, as they joined forces to break a Guiness World Record for the most cars washed in one day. The MCS team was responsible for all publicity surrounding the Attempt, which included compiling localised announcements for each participating Store. To create awareness, a series of radio interviews were conducted and a number of photo shoots staged for local newspapers to provide coverage prior to the day. A pitch to channel Ten’s The Project was successful and the Attempt received National coverage via the Metro Whip Around segment on the Friday evening.
Each year, Repco engages MCS to provide a total management solution for their Annual Suppliers Awards Dinner. Over 150 representatives from Repco’s biggest and most trusted accounts, are invited to attend the lavish and highly anticipated Event. MCS is responsible for everything from venue selection to entertainment relevant to the audience, to napkin colour, to speech preparation for the Managing Director.
Repco employs MCS to organise and implement Store Opening activity around new and refurbished stores around Australia. Liaising with Senior Management and Store Staff, MCS prepares a day of activity to draw maximum crowds and sales. In 2014, MCS was responsible for Repco’s most successful store opening to date in Morayfield, QLD. A record crowd attended the Store and record sales were achieved. MCS engaged Brisbane Bronco players to appear onsite and worked with the local radio stations and newspapers to create buzz around the in-store specials and activities.
